
A native of Arlington, TX, Kathryn Baugher achieved a Bachelor of Arts in Piano Performance with a concentration in Pedagogy and minor in Art from MidAmerica Nazarene University, Olathe, KS in 2002. Under the rigorous instruction of Dr. Andre Kasparov and Dr. Nancy Klein, she achieved a Master of Music Eduction with a concentration in Piano from Old Dominion University, Norfolk, VA in 2011.
Kathryn has participated in many church musician roles as music director, pianist, organist, and choir director of Fort Ord Chapel, Seaside CA 2003-2005, Cornerstone Christian Church, Escondido, Ca 2005-2008, Jolliff United Methodist Church, Chesapeake VA 2008-2009, United Church of Christ, Norfolk, VA, and First Baptist Church of Virginia Beach 20010-2013.
She also directed the 229th Military Intelligence Battalion Choir while active duty studying Arabic at the Defense Language Institute, Presidio of Monterey in 2003-2005. Her dedication to music eduction has spanned over 24 years experience in piano instruction to over 100 students in 8 different national and international cities across all ages and proficiency levels. Kathryn has accompanied multiple public school systems in Virginia and North Carolina and professional music organizations including the Virginia Symphony Chorus.
Most notable performances were opening for Riders in the Sky with sister Dana Chavarria as guest pianists at Bass Performance Hall, Fort Worth, TX in 2003 and joining the Virginia Symphony Orchestra Chorus to perform Gustav Mahler’s 8th Symphony “Symphony of a Thousand” for the Virginia Arts Festival in 2012.
After nearly 17 years of moving due to military assignments, she now resides in Fort Worth, TX with her husband and two children and currently provides private piano instruction, directs a local woman’s choir, and is an associate pianist for Texas Ballet Theater.
